Applying software to lowland rice research

My degree in plant physiology and crop production gave me a field research problem. I used software to support data collection for my study of lowland rice cultivars at FUNAAB.

The connection

Field measurements become useful when they can be collected consistently and inspected later. I built custom sensor software to collect and log field data for my research. This project sits at the intersection of crop research, data handling, and practical software development.

Field data workflow

The sensor software collected measurements and logged them for later review. The field study and the software contribution are connected, but they answer different questions: one examines rice cultivars, while the other helps preserve observations from the field.

Related work

The experience also informs how I approach other systems: define the question, make data collection dependable, and explain what the evidence supports.
